FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each piece is unique and is very difficult to offer standard pricing without seeing a piece. A large factor in refinishing is whether or not the piece has a paint of varnish finish. Painted pieces require more paint removing material as well as more time consuming to complete.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
From your initial phone call we will talk about what you would like to have done. I then ask you to send me some pictures and rough dimensions. I will then give you an estimate within a range. If that works for you I will make an appointment to come to your home, give you a firm price, and be prepared to take the piece at that point to begin the work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While college degrees are not available in furniture refinishing and repair I frequently attend national trade shows and attend seminars. My woodworking skills are the result of working with my father a highly skilled cabinet maker. I have learned so much from him and wish he was still around to guide me.
