Introduction: I offer a number of arrows in my teaching quiver: Spanish and French homework help, SAT II French, Spanish, Reading and Writing I am thoroughly versed in current foreign language and ESL pedagogical methods, having taught middle school, high school, and corporate executives for many years. I also help elementary school students perfect their reading and writing. For students seeking to learn a language for business or pleasure, I will tailor lessons to your needs and learning style. Test prep: SAT I, SAT II, ISEE, SSAT My high school teaching experience, gift for explaining grammar concepts, and ability to decode challenging literary texts led me in 2000 to SAT I and SAT II prep. This progression to test prep from foreign language teaching was a natural one for me, and is an equal focus of my current tutoring practice. I have also prepped elementary students for the ISEE/SSAT. Each of my skills informs the other, thereby ensuring the ultimate benefit to my students. The name of my company is quite apt: I love coaching students in grammar and writing, and understand the challenges this poses for many. As with any coach or trainer, I love seeing students develop academic muscles when they "get" a particular grammar concept or improve their written communication skills to the best of their ability. This is what teaching is all about!

Linda has tutored two of my sons over the last five years. My older son was able to improve his SAT scores as well as perfect his college application essay. He got into his first college choice. My younger son had problems expressing himself in writing and started working with Linda in 8th grade. Later he studied with Linda for ACT and got into his first college choice. Overall I was impressed with Linda's professionalism, great energy and great rapport with kids. They loved studying with her. In addition I could always rely on Linda being up to date on latest changes in SAT/ACT tests, which was tremendously helpful last year. We all feel very fortunate to have Linda as our ' Language Coach'.

I started as a public and private school teacher, then moved to tutoring for Dana Hall, Brimmer and May, and Chyten. As The Language Coach, I am currently focused on serving private clients at my office in Brookline or at their homes.
