About this pro
Mike is a very kind and understanding individual. He clearly cares about what he does and is very passionate about it. He also looks at working out with multiple lenses and takes time to get to know his clients. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get a personal trainer. Unfortunately I did not hire him (yet) because of some personal things I need to take care of, but when I do look for a personal trainer again, he will definitely be the one I hire!Aug 1, 2018Verified
I couldn't have had a better experience than what I had with Mike. I had been trying to lose about 20-25 lbs by myself for the last 3 years, but could never motivate myself enough to eat well and exercise. Mike helped with exactly that. He got to know me and my goals and held me accountable in achieving them. Mike knows his stuff with nutrition and helped me find good tasting meals that were also healthy. He was a great personal trainer as well and showed me how to do a lot of exercises that I continue to do at home. I was able to complete my goals with him pretty quickly. I'm loving how I look now and am encouraged to keep up a healthy lifestyle.Jun 29, 2018Verified

You are rocking Franklin. Keep it up, man. Consistency, injury prevention and you'll continue with the amazing progress!
Mike is amazing! You can really tell he cares about his clients, he checks in via text throughout the week to keep fitness and eating right top of mind, which we appreciate! He is always on time, and our sessions consist of workouts that take our personal needs, goals and injuries in mind. I love that he also focuses on nutrition and has provided so many great suggestions and encouragement to fit it into our real life. He is not some "meat-head" trainer, he is kind, caring, compassionate and professional. We have only had a month with him, but I look forward to our results in a year!Jan 17, 2018VerifiedMike A.'s reply
Thank you! Keep kicking butt!! Noticeable progress already. Keep the pain out of the body, consistency and balance. Can't wait for more and more results as you keep putting in the work and chipping away! :)

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? No hidden fees or start up costs. My per-hour quote may actually cover 60 to 90 minutes if we meet for nutrition. I pride myself on taking time to get to know my clients as well as their goals, obstacles and preferences. I include meal plans, snack lists, tools, educational materials, etc. that I have invested a great deal of time and effort creating. These are provided at no extra cost. The best value, hands down- You are getting a personal trainer and registered dietitian versed in the behavioral psychology of weight management, eating and exercise. I've worked at commercial gyms and know how expensive training can add up to be. The gyms have incredible overhead costs and pass that cost on to consumers, while trainers get a sliver. I travel to my clients and work out of my home to keep my rates affordable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Discuss goals, motivation, obstacles, etc. Help clients realize what they want to do and how to achieve it vs. just telling them what to do. Carryout a thorough medical and fitness assessment, including optional body fat and circumference measurements to track progress. I encourage and assist with progress pictures. Use appropriate mix of cardio and strength when designing program to achieve client goals. Ensure safe and enjoyable introduction to exercises designed to achieve goals, prevent injury and avoid mental and physical burnout. Review heart rate and exercise data to insure sessions yield the results the client is after.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Registered Dietitian- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics B.S. Food Science and Human Nutrition - Colorado State Univ. (CSU) Minor in Business - CSU ASCM Certified Personal Trainer UNC Dietetic Internship - Nutrition Education Tobacco Treatment Specialist in Behavior and Addiction - UMDNJ Board Certified in Obesity and Weight Management - AND*
