FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
They should always ask. Back to the medical analogy, doctors don’t offer their negotiated rate up front. Astrologers, like other working professionals, are always running specials and are likely posting them to groups they own, and on their own website. You’ll want to be ‘in the loop’ to know what’s being offered when, and if you’re just starting out, ask them. I run similarly but a bit differently, too. My services are worth the hourly market rate for my experience tier and specialty — $350 — but that’s beyond the budget for most of the actual market. To reconcile this, I offer the introductory rate of $99 to $144, depending upon the needs of the client. I also offer to ‘read’ any chart posted to my group for a total of $44, regardless of its nature — single natal, synastry, or even composite. This is because the reading is visible to all group members, who can also benefit from it. I’ve found that I can afford to do this due to the demands of the work itself. Much like a lawyer will charge an hourly rate, and it’s a set amount for a doctor visit — the needs of a client, and the work to be done — will evolve with each session. I also work much like a therapist does in this way, which isn’t surprising, as I’ve been in private practise for the past decade, in that particular field.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
While no case, nor client, are ever truly typical, a standard approach has emerged over time. Most closely, this resembles an initial complimentary consult (not to exceed 15 minutes) in which I gauge the needs of the client — both through their own assessment and what’s immediately identifiable in their charts. Following this, I make a recommendation that includes the most desirable (and efficient) plan, its pricing, and future direction. It’s definitely a process, but it’s a good one.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began my studies — and eventual practise — prior to licensing and certification became an option. So, much of my education comes from direct mentorship from some of the most renowned astrologers through the 1990s, that began their practises in the 1960s and early ‘70s. By 2000, I couldn’t browse an Astrology section of a major bookstore chain without seeing the names of some of my personal friends and dearest mentors. Along with my natural aptitude, this allowed me to launch my own work as an astrologer as young as 14, to serve as a host on AOL’s AstroNET at 16, and regularly lecture on #ProAstrology, a successful IRC series from 1997 through 1999, when I launched Functional Astrology — my first venture. I contributed various things to individual astrologers and websites over time — such as Kelli Fox’s Astrology.com, which became very successful. I’ve written articles and released pamphlets since the late 1990s, and was one of the first astrologers to present full house and sign delineations for the Antivertex as well as Vertex, known as the Vertices. More recently, I launched the largest Twin Flame Astrology study of its kind on the astrology forums at Linda Goodman (dot-com) from 2013-2015, evolving the work of my mentor Tameem Saied, one of its pioneers and an accomplished statistician. I’ve been a Moderator there since 2015 with the launch of its Interpersonal Astrology forum. It was also 2015 that I began consolidating the material I’d collected from my decades of experience to create what has become my Multidimensional Method which remains the only one of its kind. As of February 2018, I’m evaluating the efficacy and usefulness of obtaining certification through a current programme of study, such as the one offered by Kepler for counselling astrology. If I do so, I’ll update my stats accordingly.
