Sophie's wedding video was so much more of a poem than a chronicle. And a symphony rather than a love ballad.
The use of the church and the priest’s voice was very unique and powerful. I had never looked at St Mary’s that way.
Watching this one after Sophie's video of Molly's wedding is an interesting insight into how she sees love and marriage as an artist: brocade – not chiffon.
Our Town is a favorite of mine – especially the lines: “EMILY: "Does anyone ever realize life while they live it...every, every minute?" STAGE MANAGER: "No. Saints and poets maybe...they do some.”
I think Sophie sees a beauty that for many is just too much to process in the moment, and she captures it for them. Maybe that’s art. I can’t imagine the emotional calories it would take to watch my wedding day presented by Sophie. Perhaps she has the eye of Emily ….. a blessing and a curse most artists carry.
