FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Mostly, I charge by the hour. There are circumstances that the pricing will be by the job. I'll leave it up to the customer if they wish to pay for the materials themselves, or if they wish me to do it all.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A job walk through is very helpful to understand what the finished work will look like if the work is creating something to be used around the house. Gathering details about the project before it starts is key to being successful. If it's a repair, then asking "what happened just before it quit" is useful to know where to start.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Many years helping my Dad fix cars, houses, washing machines, electric motors and then being a cost conscious home owner not intimidated by a difficult task. The AF Civil Engineering duty was an important part of my training, as well as Electronics training in college and project management experience through employers.
