- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I talk to my clients and we determine what their learning goals are and what they hope to achive by taking voice lessons. Then we decide upon the number of lessons to start with, I quote them a price and then we begin instruction either at my home studio or at their location. While at this first lesson, I assess the students abilities and appitude and go about create a plan of action to address the students needs and desires for their voice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Masters in Vocal Performance from the University of California, Santa Barbara Artist Diploma in Early Muuc from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle B.A. in Music from Westmont College Participated in 2 competitive and auditioned summer music festivals
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began teaching during the completion of my Master's Degree in Vocal Performance during which time I was granted a fellowship to teach beginning voice at the University of California Santa Barbara where I oversay the development of beginning voice students. From this experience I grew my vocal studio through word-of-mouth and other advertising sources, gained valuable teaching experience working for organizations such as Seattle Opera and the LA Master Chorale, and have now joined the voice faculties of two outstanding universities in my local area.
