Introduction: With the last name "Barker", I was destined to work with dogs! I've been a professional, positive-only dog trainer for the past 15 years, am a certified pet dog trainer, and have a master's degree in Animal Behavior. My approach is simple—you tell me your concerns and I design a customized plan to meet your needs and goals. I use only scientifically-sound, gentle techniques when training you to train your dog or puppy to behave where ever you need it most (at home, on a walk, or at the park).
Dog behavior problems are frustrating, embarrassing, even scary, and they can take over your whole life. I love helping my clients better understand their dogs and creating simple solutions that make life more enjoyable for both people and dogs.

Three weeks after I adopted my dog, it became clear that I was in over my head. My city-living pup was aggressive when we walked anywhere near another dog and I hated that walks were stressful for us both rather than fun bonding time. I had heard amazing things about Brandi and Barker Behavior and I truly can't sing her praises enough. She is professional and insanely knowledgeable, but she's also fun, kind and a joy to work with. I quickly learned that training wasn't so much about teaching my dog, but rather about teaching me. Brandi was patient and great at communicating and helping me to tweak how I was engaging with my pup and handling situations. We now can happily go out and about -- he's a rockstar loose-leash walker, has great "tricks" to help him walk by other dogs and is so much happier and more confident.
