FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally price my services by project, with an hourly cap. I find that this allows me to concentrate fully on ensuring the agreed deliverables are met, while providing the client with the highest level of service and professionalism. When appropriate, hourly and/daily rates can be negotiated. For speaking engagements, prices quoted are based on a single 24-hr period, and cannot be split up over multiple days. For multi-day conferences or workshops, I will provide you with a proposal for the entire conference/workshop, as well as any specific fees related to travel, supplies, or accommodation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is always 'discovery'. I need to understand not only what a customer wants to have done, but what he/she tangibly expects to happen as a result of the action. For example, if someone asks for a social marketing strategy, I would need to understand the problem he/she is trying to solve, I might ask: Does the company need more brand awareness? Are they try to improve internal communications and engagement with employees? Are all the leaders on the same page? If not, what would a coordinated approach look like? What are they trying to achieve through this action (or campaign, retreat, workshop, brochure)? What would success look like for this company?, etc. Once we've agreed on the outcome and a few other basic items, we can move on to designing the plan, drafting action, deploying the solution, and documenting the outcomes.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Business, with a focus in Marketing. While in university, I participated in business competitions in which my business plans received top honors. I've developed brand strategies for retail, US and international nonprofit profit organizations, and for the United Nations. I've also worked with smaller, start-up organizations to help them identify/position their unique offerings and to develop vision and mission statements that engage and inspire their employees. In addition, I'm certified as a Prince2 (project management) practitioner and have certificates in Designing Learning and Learning Transfer. I've been trained to facilitate LEAN-based process workouts, team building exercises based on the Drexler/Sibbet Team Performance Model, and have facilitated numerous sessions using visual facilitation techniques.
