John Kovach from Masterful Surroundings came to our home in November of 2015 to give us an estimate on finishing our unfinished basement. At the time, there was little more that concrete block, a concrete floor and open stud ceiling with exposed wiring, heating duct work etc. He provided an estimate for us for everything to make that space comfortable for our six children. I asked him to create storage space as well as a bedroom for company when we need it. We had the rough workings of a bathroom installed prior that I had asked John to redesign to fit in with the rest of the space. We accepted his estimate and he began work within 3 weeks per our agreement.
The first day John arrived, he was there all day and within that period of time, he had completed most of the framing for the walls... that was only the first day. By day two, the studs were up, doors framed, and he was already working on the wiring and duct work revisions that would be necessary. Progress continued EVERYDAY through the next two weeks and he FINISHED IN 12 DAYS! He and his employee were respectful of our requests, finished all the agreed upon work, and completed in 12 days. He cleaned the area up each day and left no trash or garbage in our basement or on our property.
I do not hesitate to recommend John Kovach for any work. He is a consummate professional in all areas of his work. He fulfills his obligations in a reasonable period of time and does all with respect for the homeowner.
Our game room is now the gathering place for our children and their friends as well as the extended family when they visit. The extensive lighting and availability of outlets allows us to use the electronics we have down there. The area is now warmer with the rerouted duct work and he even thought to put lighting in the closets.
We will not hesitate to use Masterful Surroundings in the future.
