Introduction: Special Touches is more than just the name of my business it's what I love to do! Not only in my floral designs but in the way I do business. My primary goal is for every client to be a 100% satisfied with my work. I will go above and beyond to make sure that happens. I purposefully keep my business small so I can give you the attention you deserve. Having the privilege to come along side of my clients and bring their vision to life is defiantly one of my favorite parts. It's also great to be able to get to know each client personally and work with them from the first phone call until the flowers are delivered. I've even found myself many times helping with all the last minute details at the reception. I'm fairly new to Thumbtack but I'm not new to the business. I know from personal experience how nice it is to have someone jump in at the last minute and give a helping hand.

Wedding and Event Decorating

Diane came in the day before the wedding to help us with the wedding flowers that we decided we would do ourselves. She had planned to do the wrist corsages and boutonnieres but helped in so many other ways. We had purchased our flowers from Costco and the Farmer's Market. I had family members to help with making floral arrangements for the tables. My family members started making arrangements but it just wasn't quite coming together. Diane made a model arrangement for them in the small, medium and large vases. Once she did this they took off on making beautiful arrangements, looking at her example. I worked side-by-side with Diane on the bridesmaids bouquets. She got me started and made suggestions along the way. Her expertise was truly a godsend. We ended up having flowers left over and she took those flowers to the church and created beautiful sprays of flowers for the candelabras. Diane's skills in floral design would enhance a wedding, shower, or any other celebration. I would highly recommend her to do flowers for an event or to assist you in doing your own flowers which is what we did. Her kind demeanor always encouraged our floral arranging skills. Diane made the time doing our own flowers and fun event that my family has looked back on many times with fond memories.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's very difficult to give a quote since every arrangement is made especially for you and your individual style. However, here are my basic prices; Bridal Bouquets $150, Bridesmaids $50-$75, Toss Bouquet $25, Boutonnieres $12-$15, Corsages $20-$25. Once we have talked and I have a good idea of what your looking for I will then be able to get a more accurate quote. Regardless of your budget I can get creative and find ways to work within most price ranges.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Starting off with a phone call is my preference but I am fine with e-mails and texting to answer some initial questions. The next step would be to meet in person to go over details. If your not sure of the details and need some ideas I would love to help you with that as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a floral designer for over 30 years. During that time frame I did step away from working at a traditional flower shop so I could be home with our children. However, I have continued to do weddings and party's working out of my home using primarily silk flowers.
