How does your business stand out?

Betsy has been a massage therapist in the Charlotte area for 8 years. She worked full-time for two large massage offices and has previously owned her own mobile massage business. She has worked with a range of clients, including professional athletes with sports-related injuries, pregnant women, and professionals with pains often caused by sedentary office work. Originally from Chapel Hill, N.C., Betsy relocated to Charlotte in 1998 to be closer to her family. She’s a graduate of the University of North Carolina Charlotte and holds a bachelor’s degree in fine art. She still enjoys painting and various forms of art. Betsy practices techniques for bringing relaxation to clients to aid in pain management, increasing circulation, immune system function, energy and anxiety levels, sleep patterns, flexibility, relief from symptoms of carpal tunnel, sciatica, headaches, arthritis, TMJ and many other issues that impact your daily activities. Her goal is to help you live a healthier, happier and more productive life. Betsy has successfully worked with a range of clients to managing their specific treatment needs, including professional athletes with sports-related injuries, pregnant women, and professionals with pain often caused by sedentary office work. Certifications and specialized training courses include work in advanced neuromuscular therapy (NMT) techniques, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point, reflexology, first trimester prenatal, geriatric, Swedish massage and therapeutic topical spa treatments to meet the individual needs of clients. Betsy is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy (license #7141) and insured through Associated Bodywork and Massage Professional. She is passionate about continuously gaining certifications to better serve her clients and Betsy also has experience in teaching other massage therapists. But she discovered her passion for massage and helping others after she experienced a fall in 2005 that caused her to have a herniated disk and a back injury. Massage therapy was the most effective way to manage the pain from her back injury. Consistent therapeutic massage, combined with a lifestyle focused on health and wellness was the key for Betsy alleviating her pain from the injury. After experiencing the immediate benefits of massage, Betsy decided to become a licensed massage therapist. She graduated from the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy (now called the Southeastern Institute) in February 2007. Betsy cares deeply about delivering individualized care to each client through a personalized plan to respond to a range of needs. Her tailored treatments help clients who experience lower and upper back problems, tension, and muscle pains.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

There is no greater joy than knowing that I can affect a client’s life in such a positive way. I enjoy helping people on their path to wellness and watching my client’s journey to a pain-free lifestyle. The key to the foundation of how powerful healing touch can be is understanding that every human body is unique and listening to every client’s individual needs is my passion and commitment to all my clients.

Betsy is truly very gifted. She listened to what my issues were (pinched nerves/muscle spasms in my upper back and numbness going down my arm) and she catered my massage toward working on those areas very effectively. Since it was my first massage, I got an awesome discount. You can tell that Betsy uses her gift of touch with focused intention rather than simply giving you the same massage she gives everyone else. I could tell that she cared enough to focus throughout the entire massage and wanted to truly help me, not just get it over with like I've experienced before from other massage therapists. I have my next massage booked with her already. Betsy is a delightful person and I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Absolutely a great massage. The room was nice and cozy and I liked the fact she does not charge extra for aromatherapy. The only downsides were she isn't set up to take flex spending cards and the location was a little different then what I was expecting. It was confusing to find and there were other tenants walking around and having meetings that could be heard during the session.

Thank you for your review Telia. I'm so sorry that your experience was not a 5 star experience. In the future I would definitely check with your flex spending account to make sure that your card can accept the code which I sent you in our messages before your appointment & then discussed in the office after your appointment. You're completely right the office is a little confusing to find & I will be placing detailed direction on my website to make sure that this does not happen again. As for the unexpected meeting that was taking place during our appointment time I greatly apologize. This was apparently a quarterly meeting & this occurrence does not happen often. I hope that I can further help you in the future & look forward to correcting the minor issues that occurred & creating an excellent experience for you next time.
