FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get a really good idea of the scope and feel for the project before starting. I then like to make a mood board (either by myself or sometimes collaboratively with the client) based on the clients ideas, brand image, and business objectives. From their, I make a few, very rough sketches of concepts and let the client pick from around two of those to build out into two rough mock-ups. From there, the client will pick and lock in the final design and I will spend the rest of the time working on it with usually one more round of revisions near the end of the process if needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my BFA in Graphic Design (GPA 3.9) from DePaul University along with two minors in Studio Art and Sociology.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was recently able to redesign and update a 34-page print product catalogue. As the sole designer on this project, I was able to establish and implement a grid and typography in a layout that effectively displays the products for ordering while also projecting the brand's style and aesthetic. Besides strictly design work, I was also responsible for other creative tasks, such as scouting a photoshoot location, pairing photos with frames for style shots, art directing the styled photography, and taking some photos myself. In total, I bet this project took about 30 hours because it was such an extensive project.
