FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To start off, I always introduce myself, whether in person or on the phone, so that we can get comfortable with one another. In my initial interview, I ask a few questions about what they want from me. With some photographers, the control is mainly dominated by the photographer. I want this experience to be enjoyable and fun so I usually have some background music playing and always talk to the model to make them feel more comfortable. All in all, I want to capture moments while in a relaxed and nonchalant aura while also provifing professional quality results.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken two highschool classes and have a Certificate from Alison online photography course. I have attended a twelve day National Geographic Student Expedition Photograph Workshop with two Nat. Geo. photographers, Erika Larsen and Melissa Farlow. For the past year and a half, I have been working as a second shooter for a photography company in Richmond but have becaome a freelance photographer as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was twelve, my parents bought a camera for the birth of my niece. After a few days, they just could not get any reasonably good pictures. I asked if I could give it a try and they agreed but had their doubts. Little did they know, I had read the whole manual and watched the DVD. I was taking photographs in minutes and my parents were astounded!
