FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Well, I don't really have a standard pricing system for the work I do. It all depends on what the customer wants done and all. For instance, if the customer wanted me to tear out an interior door and jam and put a new interior door and jam in its place. I wouldn't charge them 30.00 per hour, I would charge them just one set price, like maybe 100.00 or 150.00 depending on the size of the door or if i had to make the hole from the old door bigger to fit the new door. So I would have to look at what the customer was wanting to be done and would go from there.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I really like meeting and talking to new customers face to face. Of course we are going to talk to the phone first, but need to make face to face contact as soon as possible. To be able to look the customer in the eyes while you talk with them is very important. You get to see what kind of person they are. And also so they can see the kind of person that I am, see if I am professional enough in appearance and in experience to be the one that works on their home.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Well, I started residential construction when I was 16. I started out framing houses and then after 16 years of moving up and doing different things on houses I am now able to build a house from the ground up with my own two hands. I haven't had any school classes on any kind of construction or anything like that. I learned what I know by trial and error and also from the guys I worked with. I payed close attention in everything that was going on around me. I was always willing to learn something new. And now im here.
