FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $20/hour for proofreading, $35/hour for developmental editing and $45/hour for final editing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I want to give the client what they want. If they don't know much about publishing I try to ease them along and understand the process and realities of the business. Then I have them tell me what they're looking for - someone to check spelling or grammar or someone to critique the flow and readability of their document or story, etc. We decide together from there what is needed and then I do it as perfectly as I am able. I want my client's work to shine and be as effective as possible, be it a business letter or brochure or the next 'Great American Novel.'
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Undergraduate degrees in literature and writing and then literature, computer and graphic design studies while in grad school.
