FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing depends on the scope of the project, but in general my rates range from $45-$60 per hour, depending on the scope of my expertise required. For long-term projects such as ghostwriting, I give a firm quote after our initial consultation for the completed project. Bookkeeping projects are less than business plan projects, and Power Point presentations based on your materials (I flesh it out and make it pretty) and copywriting projects are on the lower end of the scale as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin with a questionnaire that I customize based on your request for services. Once that is returned, we will have a phone conference to discuss the project and your expectations. I usually utilize a shared Dropbox folder with clients, where we can store documents, images and other information, but that is dependent on the sensitivity of the information and wishes of the client. Weekly updates, either by phone or email are conducted through completion and delivery of the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I am new to Thumbtack, I bring expertise from all areas critical to small business success. Raised in an entrepreneurial family as the eldest of six children, I learned customer service at my mother’s elbow and the meaning of never giving up on quality from my father, while working in the family photography business. Experience as a Certified Public Accountant, specializing in audit provided the opportunity to gain expertise at identifying and solving the problems of seepage, fraud and financial neglect that prevent so many businesses from thriving. I next built a small business of her own, Tabletop Productions, producing print, radio and video broadcasting projects as well as marketing and promotions. During my tenure as medical practice administrator for a functional medicine practice, and was instrumental in reducing financial waste, identifying and eliminating fraud and developing new service lines that were outside of the “insurance game.” I have successfully launched both a 2nd practice location and a new, independent practice. As an independent consultant, I bring fresh eyes to your business structure, processes and future needs. Staying atop of current trends is important, but so is attention to details. If you are ready to grow your business to the next level, I will help you to ensure that your foundation is solid and ready to support your trajectory of success. As a published writer, I have also utilized my talents in several areas pertaining to business, food and cooking and healthcare to co- or ghost-write many informational and educational materials on several topics.
