Introduction: I am a multi-instrumentalist; I teach guitar, banjo, fiddle, and mandolin. I have worked with students of all different backgrounds at all ages; from 5-year-olds to 75-year-olds! Private music lessons should be fun engaging.
When it comes to new students, some are apprehensive and self-conscious; some are ready to dive right in. I enjoy being a leader and helping my students reach their goals.

I have my masters degree in music education and have taught music in the schools and privately for 29 years. I have been taking ukulele lessons from Jake since this past Summer. Jake is an outstanding teacher and I am very impressed with his teaching and his excellent musical knowledge. He is very patient, encouraging, and makes each lesson interesting and enjoyable. He really listens to his students and continues to challenge and differentiate materials and lessons. As a fellow music educator, I cannot say enough good things about Jake Lowe. I currently take ukulele lessons from Jake, and my experience with him has been great! He is always very patient and takes time to explain difficult or confusing concepts. Jake makes every lesson fun and engaging. He is an excellent teacher!

I take guitar and clawhammer banjo lessons with Jake, and he's a fantastic teacher. He is always prompt, and comes to the lesson with material he spends time preparing. He's professional, but always makes it fun. I'll probably be adding fiddle lessons before long!
