Introduction: My business is set in a really warm and inviting little log cabin, where I can focus my attention completely on my clients. My approach to massage therapy is listed below. Aside from being a licensed massage therapist, I am a Wellness Coach with a Masters in Social Work Counseling. I have completed training also in CPR/First Aid, Mind/Body Medicine, and a vast array of massage modalities ranging from pregnancy - infant massage, to modalities with both a light and deep tissue massage approach, and to more esoteric approaches such as Trager, Feldenkrais, Reiki/polarity type therapies, and more. Being licensed since 1991, I have taken at least one extra modality class every two years. Additionally, I have heavily studied food and health, and varying approaches to achieving health by being aware of what we consume. I have owned many businesses, including a café serving organic foods and foods for special dietary approaches, where I created the menus from scratch, and I will be teaching food and health related workshops soon. My studio also hosts 3 yoga classes, a bi weekly African Drum Circle, and weekly House Concerts featuring Grass Roots musicians sharing their own original music with listening room audiences. Fair Trade and locally crafted gift items are for sale at my shop, and currently I am also scheduling upcoming workshops/classes in health related genres. Licensed since 1991, I became a massage therapist because I truly enjoyed the wonderful, nurturing and therapeutic experience of a really great massage, and decided I wanted to offer this gift to others. It is truly a blessing whenever another person allows me to assist in their healing journey. Each and every client is unique in his/her goals and I honor wherever a person is right now in life and in his/her physical/emotional/mental/spiritual path. Each session is designed by both me and my client working together to achieve the best outcome, and I believe in respect, the power of presence, and importance of a loving, nurturing, therapeutic touch.
