FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I think my prices are very fair for the quality of work and level of communication you’ll get from me. I of course want to make a profit and complete your job when you’d like it done, but I also want to gain as much experience as possible, so I believe I’m very competitive with my quotes. I’m not likely to be the cheapest you can find to do the job, but oftentimes that tempting low quote will result in even higher costs when you have to them find someone else to come fix what the previous person did wrong. If hired to work by the hour (usually to do work I have not seen yet to provide a quote), I do have a two hour minimum.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication is key! Understanding exactly what the customer needs and what their expectations are is paramount to being able to meet or even exceed those expectations. We’ve got to be on the same page. Once I understand your needs, my goal is exceed them every time, whether that be with how quickly the job gets done, the level of communication, the quality of the work, how neatly I work, or hopefully all of the above!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a business degree, but no “formal” training when it comes to handyman work, if there is such a thing. It’s all just learning from others and from doing and from reading books and articles about whatever projects I’m currently working on.
