Here's a story you don't hear every day. After meeting with Jordan and finding her to be very talented and enthusiastic, we hired her to play our wedding ceremony. Leading up to the wedding, Jordan's responsiveness drops, but she claims it's because she's very busy. On the day of our wedding, Jordan is a no show. Up until an hour before the ceremony, our Day-of Coordinator calls/texts/emails her but there is no response. Thankfully, one of our reception musicians fills in, although he wasn't prepared with our music choices, and saves the day. Later, our Day-of Coordinator receives an email from Jordan's account, from her mother, stating that Jordan had suddenly passed away four days ago and that they hadn't had a chance to reach out to all of her contracts to let them know. Needless to say, we are shocked and saddened. Then, while we're away on our honeymoon, our Day-of Coordinator decides to do some sleuthing and finds Jordan on her social media site, posting live videos and definitely still living. After checking a few days in a row just to make sure, it turns out that, Jordan is indeed still alive and had lied about her own death. So long story short, this woman is a talented cellist, but I wholeheartedly would suggest hiring another vendor rather than one who lies about their own death to get out of a commitment.
