Introduction: I am a caring teacher with 20+ years of experience. I have taught all levels - beginners through advanced, from 6 year old to retirees. I have successfully prepared middle school and high school students for Junior District, Senior District and All State auditions, college / conservatory auditions, Junior and Senior MYWE auditions, and BYSO auditions. Flexible, creative approach individually tailored to each student’s needs. I very much enjoy seeing my students grow and blossom as musicians. I also enjoy coaching my students in flute ensembles. In addition to private lessons, I organize monthly studio classes, so that my students could get to know each other and play for each other. It is a very supportive, non-competitive environment. Performing in front of others and also listening to each other has been a wonderful learning experience for them. This class is not mandatory, but it is very popular. I only invite the students who I think would benefit most from this experience.

Mana is a wonderful teacher. She cares about her students and their progress. She is an extremely talented musician with very effective teaching methods. She was able to adjust lessons to the level of instruction that was needed for my daughter to achieve her goals. Furthermore, she is quite flexible with scheduling lessons. We are very happy with Mana and would highly recommend her.

I'm a parent of a now-21 year old who has studied with Mana for half his life! I swear that she has helped us raise him. :) Mana has kept lessons fun yet challenging over the many years that our son has taken lessons. She even adapted the music they've worked on to reflect his interests, while keeping up with the classics of the flute repertoire. I really appreciate her good nature and candor! I cannot recommend her highly enough for flute students of any age or ability.

Mana is a very professional flute teacher who is able to work with any ability level. I took lessons from her from 6th grade until the end of high school and was taught at the level I was comfortable at but also was constantly challenged to work harder and advance in my practice. I highly recommend her to anyone, whether you are young or old, looking to become a professional flutist or just continue flute as a hobby!

Working with Mana has made a tremendous difference for my daughter. My daughter loved her previous teacher, but we knew it was time to expand her reach, and we are so glad we found Mana. Mana is patient, yet demanding. She requires excellence of her students, but without putting on undue pressure. When something is difficult, she finds multiple ways to work on things so that the student isn't just spinning their wheels doing the same thing over and over. Her knowledge of the repertoire needed in order to prepare for college is extensive, so if you are thinking of majoring in music, you will be well prepared. She is incredibly accommodating, and she is worth every penny that we pay her for my daughter's lessons. Mana is well connected in the music world in Boston, so there is a lot of opportunity to be exposed to others in the field, and she often passes on information on recitals and concerts. She has monthly studio classes, so students get to experience playing with an accompanist and playing in front of other people, which is a very important part of learning to play an instrument. So you've got the trifecta of lessons, performance, and listening opportunities, which are all essential in becoming a musician. I could go on and on, but I am just thrilled that we were referred to her and that she's teaching my daughter.

She is an excellent teacher for all ages, and supports students emotionally as well as with their technical proficiency and musicality. Lessons are individualized and tailored to meet each student's needs. I highly recommend her!
