FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates are as follows: $35/ 30 min, $50/ 45 min, $60/ 60 min. Monthly tuition discounts are given, which can be discussed in detail upon request.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With a new student, I like to find out more about him/her-- what musical experience they have, what their goals are, etc. We will sing a few warm-ups so I can get an idea of what his/her voice sounds like and so I can get an idea of what I'm working with. These warm-ups will usually test range, tone, and support. Every student is different, so I do my best to meet him/her where he/she is and go from there. We might continue with warm-ups, do breathing exercises, learn a new song... it depends on the student's individual needs and wants.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BME in Music Education for K-12 (I am a certified teacher in Colorado) with an emphasis in voice and piano. I have taken voice lessons through high school and college with formal Classical training. I have taught in public and private schools as a choir and theatre teacher. I have also taught privately on and off for the past 10 years. I have sung in choirs, vocal jazz ensembles, and have trained with professional jazz musicians to work on vocal jazz technique. In addition, I've been involved with numerous musical theatre productions throughout my years of training, so I am also familiar with Broadway repertoire and technique. Beyond my formal training, I have been a singer-songwriter and currently perform in my own alternative/ pop band, Ivory Circle. With my music, I've collaborated with other songwriters in the area and have had songs placed on VH1 and Showtime. I perform often with my band and on my own in the Denver area.
