Upon finding ourselves in need of a somewhat urgent home repair (a leaky ceiling during summer rainstorms), we were referred to David McNicholas by a trusted tradesman. We found David to be professional and timely from our first call to him and subsequent visit to our property to review the problem all the way through the quoting process and ultimately, the final fix to our siding, windows, flashing and trim in the rear of our home.
He was proactive in communicating with us as homeowners, keeping us in the loop with regard to timing (ie: when new windows would be ordered and available, how weather affected his crew's plans) and was there to thoroughly and clearly explain an unexpected problem that popped up in the middle of the job (ie: need for new windows due to rotting wooden frames).
I respected David's demeanor as the lead of his work crew, overhearing him speak respectfully to (and about) the workers on his team. Examples included making sure that they could stop work early enough on a particular day to be available for medical appointments or to pick up children from childcare. Other examples included speaking respectfully to his staff about making sure our yard was left in exactly the same condition it was in before they started the job.
Overall, David was enjoyable to work with and I'd recommend him to other homeowners without hesitation.

I hired David McNicholas for an extensive repair and restoration job on my 150 year-old house. Throughout the project David has been timely, thorough, and professional. He responded quickly to my initial contact, assessed the situation and explained it to me quite clearly, offered several solutions, and got his crew to work right away once we decided on a plan.
He kept me informed throughout the project, and I am quite satisfied with his work. I was particularly impressed with his concern for the historical aspects of the building and his awareness of how much they meant to me.
I would not hesitate to recommend David or to hire him for future work. He is responsible and straight-forward.

I have used David McNicholas to do repair work on my rental property at 19 Newington Road, Greenland NH on several occasions. He installed a fuel tank for my furnace, did roof work for my garage and on the house roof, including the installation of new rain gutters, and renovation of my downstairs bathroom. We hired David for new windows and siding he was prompt in getting back with us and communicated with us immediately on any questions or concerns. We plan on using him again he seemed to care for the health of our house.
