For three years I've relied on Robin Macklin to help me communicate extremely ephemeral artworks made primarily of embroidered thread. Although the works defy traditional art photography's standards and methods, Robin always goes the extra mile to devise technical solutions - even when such solutions are far from obvious. His primary objective is always to provide excellent photographs that fulfill my technical and marketing needs, even when faced with difficult challenges. Thanks to his depth of photographic knowledge, he can anticipate needs that are unforeseen -- even to me, the creator of the work -- and suggest post production tweaks that bring the final results to a whole new level. Robin Macklin photographed our son's bar mitzvah in May of 2016. He was unbelievably generous with his time and patient and accommodating even in moments of mayhem. But beyond that, the photos are simply some of the best pictures of our family we could hope for! Robin has such a fabulous eye for a moment, or a character or a mood, and we simply couldn't believe the moments he captured or the movement and joy. I cannot think of even a single criticism, it was just magic, start to finish.
