Introduction: I share my passion of instrumental music with students of all ages. Now my students range from 3-70, but I've had older :) I can teach any instrument with a book. Really! I love instruments. It is my gift. I include theory (the understanding of reading music). Piano is a great foundation for some who aren't sure what they want. I have all of the band wind instruments, guitars, drums and percussion, and some pretty rare instruments too. I majored on saxophone and piano but enjoy many instruments. I am pleasant and flexible in my instructional pace, according to the desires and goals of my students or their parents. I have a Masters in Music and years of experience in K-12 classroom instruction, but am not old :) Music is a gift and it's fun to learn! I enjoy helping motivate youth to reach their dreams or goals in learning music and I enjoy guiding adult students while they explore and learn music at their own pace. I do virtual lessons when necessary but prefer in person of course!

Dawn is an excellent piano/music teacher. While there are many piano teachers out there invested in the goal of creating "professional dot readers" Dawn goes above and beyond, incorporating a great deal of music theory, technique and even music history/appreciation in her lessons. With Dawn you not only end up learning the "how" of piano/music, but the "why" which provides the student with an intimate understanding of not only the piece of music at hand, but a glance into the mind of the composer. She is well versed on not only the piano, but a host of other instruments which gives her an edge in explaining the ins and outs of music theory from various perspectives. In addition to all this, she's incredibly pleasant, patient and has a good sense of humor. I look forward to many more lessons with Dawn!

We signed up my 6 year old for piano to check off music for homeschool. We loved her so much we signed up my 12 yr old daughter and I signed up for adult violin lessons! She’s great and would highly recommend!

Dawn has been teaching me music and theory on the bass guitar and piano. She is experienced, knowledge and patient. Additionally, Dawn has a well developed ability to explain and demonstrate I formation clearly and across a broad age groups. Overall, she is a very good teacher.
