FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates depend on the scope of work for any given project. While I do prefer flat rates based on the project, varied hourly rates are available. A simple job like fixing a leaky sink or putting together someone's furniture they bought online is pretty quick and easy so a low hourly rate will reflect that. Large/extended projects are usually flat rate priced and do not change unless the scope of work changes. Rates can be negotiated sometimes and I do my best to be fair. I do offer. a 10% labor rate discount to senior citizens, military families, and first responders.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For new customers, I like to hold a brief call to discuss the details of their project. Usually, we then schedule a date and time for me to come out and introduce myself, examine the work, take measurements if necessary, and give an estimate. This meeting is of course free of charge and with no obligations to the customer. Occasionally, I can price a job site-unseen but that really depends on what it is.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As mentioned earlier, my father taught me a lot of what I know in relation to my work. In addition to that, I recieved some construction training in the US Army Corps of Engineers. I served 8 years from 2008 to 2016, honorable discharge.
