FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally charge around 20-30 cents per word, though am willing to negotiate dependent on the type of project and how long I expect it to take me.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a discussion with them about what they expect from the piece. If I'm writing something, I want to know the tone, the purpose, and anything special they want mentioned. I also need to know what the word count/length and deadline will be. If I'm editing, I'd discuss whatever existing concerns the customer had. We agree on a fee and deadline and I deliver promptly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated top of my class from UK university Nottingham Trent, (1st Class diploma) with a joint Bachelor of the Arts in English / Film & Television. I scored a perfect mark on my final dissertation, won the Film & TV Award upon graduation, and have since won the Intellect/Film Matters Masoud Yadzani 2015 Award for Excellence in Film Scholarship. I've been working as a freelance journalist and occasional copy editor for four years and my writing has been published by VICE, Sight & Sound, The Guardian, and others.
