Introduction: Former Boston stand-up comedian, 20-year comedy improv vet and second-grade school teacher Mike Della Penna returned to magic -- his childhood hobby -- when he moved to the Bay Area in 2004. Since then, he has performed to laughter and acclaim across northern California and won some awards to boot. He loves magic's combination of fun and surprise and shares in the wide-eyed wonder of his young audiences. "Mike the Magician was a fantastic part of my 4- year-old's birthday party! The kids (ages 3-8) were engrossed in the magic show, and he kept them engaged the entire time. Mike was great for this preschool age group because they loved his silliness and energy, and the tricks were both amazing and simple enough for them to follow. The show length (20 minutes) was perfect for their attention spans, and the adults really enjoyed the magic also! He made balloon animals after the show, which was a great way to finish up. Mike was pleasure to work with both in the pre-planning and during the party, and I highly recommend him, especially for the preschool crowd." -Kate R.

We hired Magician Mike for our 4 year old daughter's birthday party. We chose the Magic and Balloons Show which was the perfect amount of time for the 4 year olds. 20-30 minutes of magic and 20-30 minutes of balloon making. Mike had all the kids engaged, interacting, participating, and laughing. Parents and kids alike loved the show. Even the shyest kid wanted to participate! Perfectly humored! After the magic show Magician Mike patiently took balloon requests from each kid...from Frozen, Super Heroes, Star Wars, Animals, Ninjas...they asked and he made it! Mike was super easy to work with through email. After our party date was set, we had to change the date due another friend's party on the same day. Mike was very accommodating and we changed the date promptly without any issues. Magician Mike is awesome! So awesome that our 7 year old wants him back next year for her birthday party!

I first saw Mike perform at an event for a friends kids party. He was fun, funny and professional. I liked his show so much that I booked him to perform at my sons birthday party. He did a fabulous job, and even impressed the adults at the party prior to and following his main show. I very much enjoyed Mike and felt comfortable with him at my home. His show was hilarious for the kids and the adults in the audience. I plan to have him back again for my daughters party!

Mike was great! I had him come over for my daughters 6yr birthday and he connected very with all the kids. We had about 12 kids and they all enjoyed his show. I would very much recommend him for any kids birthdays. The fact that he's also a teacher was a plus because there were some kids that weren't exactly behaving, however, Mike was very nice in dealing with them.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For birthday parties I offer a 30 minute show, a 45 minute show, and then the option to add balloon animals for all guests after the show.
