What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
2 Options - As a sponsor on our TV series XCORPS or my personal video and editing services.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Lifelong. BA Journalism over 200 episodes of TV produced.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
In high school...had great illustrative photo and video instructors! Before my TV career - Stu Seagull Productions I also had a large still photo production studio working with model agencies in San Diego.
What types of customers have you worked with?
A wide variety of clients and sponsors in Action Sports and Music lifestyle but also in the areas of education, real estate, health and wellness, technology, adventure travel and nature documentation as well as multi genre motor sports.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I just finished a 4 year side Motor Sports video TV project called SWEETRIDESthat included the full classic car restoration and video documentation of a 1979 Trans Am - we called the BANDIT X Project!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask a customer what the production money will be spent on...fancy looking offices and studios with loads of expensive cameras and editing gear OR a few people who can make it happen without all that!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Ask client about their REELS - Did they shoot it or buy STOCK shots and canned music? Have they done any broadcast TV and films? Are they used to working with on camera talent?
Ask about where the specific production dollars will be spent.
Experience Experience Experience...unless your a production genius you get good and learn to wear multiple hats from LOTS of shoots and edits!
