FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Package discounts are available! My cancellation policy is 24 hrs notice. Makeups are scheduled if I cancel or in extenuating circumstances.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With young students I make goals and expectations clear. If you are an adult we will discuss your goals and practice commitments and tailor lessons specifically for your desires and needs. If lessons are online we will be sure the video chat setup is working for you. Learning a stringed instrument can be challenging and fulfilling. It takes time and commitment, but after a few months the results will please you!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a classically trained musician I am especially good at breaking down the basics and helping students practice effectively. My conservatory training as a cellist gives me an understanding of theory and the complexities of music (as well as some chops), and my ability to live inside the feel of anything from rock and roll to swing to bluegrass gives depth to my lessons that can't be found with someone who specializes in one approach. You might think I'm the jack of all trades and master of none, but that's just not true. My depth as a cellist is at a high professional level and that influences and bleeds into all my other work. With the guitar I am especially comfortable with folk and blues, as well as using the instrument to understand the theory and structure of music.
