Introduction: John Singer Sargent once stated, "A portrait is a picture in which there is something not quite right about the mouth." Many artists, professional and amateur alike struggle with portraits. For myself, portraits are the most challenging and exciting subject because of the versatility and the subtle nuances in expression, shadow, highlight, profile and bust. I have over 30 years experience and have managed to iron out the "mouth" issue that Sargent spoke of. I guarantee that you'll be pleasantly surprised at the calibre and precision of my portraits. I enjoy the challenge and as I stated above, capturing the nuances, but what I enjoy the most is the expression not on the subject's face but the commissioner, when they first see their commissioned piece of art.
