We have to have knowledge and be proficient in electrical, plumbing, sheetrock repair, concrete pads, Sheet metal, controls, ducting, ventilation, carpentry and finsish work to name but a few things we do. We give free estimates in person. We love seeing a job completed. We take pride in fixing and building things(the correct way). Carruth Home Solutions treats all of our customers like family. This review is only for the search process. I’m new to TT and did not like the $1 quote in order to get me to call. I give credit for answering the phone, but it became apparent that the call was answered to steer me into a high price new system. My system is only 10 years old and I had to endure several reasons why I needed an new unit...from the ozone layer to the working compressor going out if they made the repair to big brother outlawing R22 in a couple years....sheeeeeesh!!! If you read the request and didn’t want the job, then don’t respond and waste my time. Let’s be clear, I am not labeling these guys like other slime balls in this business, but the prices thrown my way were definitely high and not an attraction to replace rather than repair....this is why I didn’t give a one star.....because I didn’t go long enough to truly find out.

Thanks Pete for not refering to us as "slime balls" To note to our reveiw readers. WE NEVER EVER CAME TO PETE'S HOUSE TO ACCCESS HIS PROBLEM!!! HE CAME TO US WITH AN ISSUE OF CONCERN THAT WAS NEVER VALIDATED BY US. Pete has a 10 year old system that has been nothing but trouble for him. He is frustrated over that fact. He has an R-22 system. Due to the restrictions on the soon to be phased out freon, repairs are in fact..very expensive.(R-22 freon will be eliminated from production in less than 2 years). Pete has a major leak in the evap coil of the system according to him. He inquired about a repair for which I provided some engineering consultation that he did not like to hear. I am sorry about that but I am the professional with over 40 years of personal experience AND an engineering degree. I might know a few things "just saying" Pete had conducted some "arm chair engineering" over the internet and felt that a repair in this catagory was "ecessive to say the least" For Pete to give us a 3 star reveiw for services never rendered is a bit odd at best. Hope he finds someone to help him. We really do. Good luck Pete.

CHS easily installed/connected my existing range hood duct to the new hood I installed. I was having trouble connecting the two due to the very short distance and the difference in pipe sizes. They were in and out within an hour. Should have done this about 3 months ago. Thank you!!!

Steve's response and arrival time was excellent. He was honest, knowledgeable, very helpful and very diligent as he worked on our problem. He did a very thoughtful job and it looks like he took care of our water leak. So far the problem seems to be corrected. I would most certainly hire Steve again.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer a fair and precise bid upfront. By doing so, we don't negotiate as we feel this is unfair to our customers and to us. We use a excel spread sheet bid process that Steve designed. All of our projects are a bid based on current commodoties pricing. Labor and overhead is fixed and so are taxes. An upfront and fair price always.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We prefer to investigate a job and share solutions with available products that allow the best repair or replacement to fit a home owners budget. We are NOT the cheapest nor do we plan to be. We are craftsman of the highest order and pay attention to quality and details.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Steve has over 47 years in the trades industry along with going to college for mechanical / electrical technology. We take an engineering approach to all of our work. Judah has helped Steve ever since he could carry a trash bag. While growing up,Judah got to work alongside Steve's crew of over 50 expert tradesmen. Judah learned quickly and efficiently and soon rose to be a crew leader while overseeing projects of his own.
