Introduction: I have worked as a freelance artist for over 20 years. I have drawn portraits, worked as a penciller, inker and colorist for comic books, illustrated children's books, created event logos and artwork, done concept art and storyboards, taught art lessons, designed book and CD covers, and more. I work in both traditional and digital media. I work full-time as an artist and am able to devote the time needed to deliver a high-quality product in a short-time frame. From a young age, I have found a great sense of satisfaction and fulfillment in doing art. As I began working professionally, I learned that I enjoyed being able to work with a client to bring their vision into reality. The jobs I enjoy the most are the ones where I deliver a product that exceeds the client's expectations.

Josh is one of those amazing artists who can do anything. He works with a wide array of media and is truly multitalented. I've commissioned several works from him - each different from the one before - and they've all been great! I highly recommend him. You will not be disappointed.

Josh does amazing work. I contracted with Josh to create concept art for a game project. The result was fantastic and delivered in a timely manner. Josh also donated art work for a charity fundraiser that I was involved with. The piece he created was extremely popular with our guests and became one of our most successful auction items that night. I have had a chance to see some of Josh's comic book characters and I am always impressed with his mastery of anatomy, attention to detail and the life he brings to his characters.

I have known Josh Barker for some years now. His artwork is always worth the price of admission. He has a special skill with dark themes, horror, monsters. This is not to say that he can't do other things well. It is just that the darker themes resonate with his artistic sensibilities and it shows.

My quoted price is an estimate based on the project's description. Negotiated rates may be available.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to speak on the phone at least once to get a sense of the personality of the project and the specific details that will lead to a satisfactory outcome. I typically provided a loose thumbnail sketch of what I envision for the final product for approval.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied traditional and digital art and animation at the Art Institute of Phoenix and American River College.
