FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most insulation work is typically $1 per square foot @ a 4" thickness with a $500 minimum. Additional inches can be applied @ $0.25 per square foot. Our polystyrene material has an R-value of 4.5/inch. In comparison, fiberglass is 3.7, cellulose 3.3...... Roofing has many factors such as pitch, whether or not the old roof is being removed, the number of layers, the type of shingle being used. Our pricing can be compared to the roofing estimator tool at Roofcalc.org
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I introduce myself, tell them a little bit about my experience and how long I have been performing this kind of work. I usually have my tablet and show some before and after pictures of work we have performed for other customers. I then ask some questions regarding the nature of the problem that they are experiencing. I thoroughly inspect their home, identify all of the issues, then offer a few solutions. Most of the time, I can offer a few different levels of repair, depending on how long they want the repair to last. Sometimes, there will be a simple way to fix their problem, which would last ten years, for example. Then, there will be a more permanent solution, that will cost more, but will last significantly longer. I make sure that they understand the differences, and answer any questions that they may have, before proceeding with any repair.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I personally have over 20 years of residential shingle roofing experience. I have worked on almost any kind of housing structure from small garages, to mid-size homes, to large multi-family units, such as, apartment complexes and condominiums...some of which have been four stories, with a steep pitch. I have serviced homes that are brand new, homes that are over 100 years old, and converted entire roofs from cedar shake to asphalt shingles, which requires installation of new plywood decking across the entire surface area. I'm very comfortable working in environments that wou!d frighten the average person. I can permanently solve the most challenging situations involving problematic water infiltration, through careful logic and reasoning. When it comes to insulating, I evaluate the best strategy to maximize your home's efficiency, no matter how challenging it may be. I have years of experience in all areas of home construction, not just the one's of my specialty. I consider myself intelligent, hard-working, knowledgeable, and experienced. I take no shortcuts, and treat each service call and repair as if it were my own home.
