We could also create and design a custom backsplash for kitchens or bathrooms. Yes we also do painting, it may be something small like just getting a Fresh coat of paint put on your front entryway door all the way to a complete room including accent walls. Now, to the electrical side of the house we can do everything from replacing a light switch or Outlet to installing a new ceilingfan. Up to replacing Breakers in a breaker box. If it's Plumbing you need done we cover everything from toilet repair to faucet installation. We also do power washing and deck repair work fence repair work, removal and installation. I hired Robert to lay level and tile 90sqft of floor with large format tile. He directed me check out his profile on thumbtack. Both bad decisions. He told me he would need to level the floor in order to "guarantee" his work--although I'm not sure what guarantee he is suggesting. The job was perfomed so poorly that we tore it all out the next day. Firstly, he did a poor job of leveling the floor and clearly had no idea how to properly use self-leveling compound. As a result the installation suffered from unacceptable lippage, wavieness, uneven spacing, a broken tile, etc. After consulting with real tile pros, I discovered that Robert failed to level the floor properly, failed to apply thinset properly using directional trowel ridges, failed to use the proper trowel size, failed to backbutter the tiles (a requirement for large format tile), failed to set the tile properly (did not collapse his wave trowel ridges such that the thinset failed to adhere properly). Additionally, instead of cutting door trim above tile, he tiled around the door trim for an exceptionally poor finish. Overall, Robert demonstrated a complete ignorance for acceptable tile setting/installation. To add insult to injury, he accidentally took my 4-ft level and has not returned it after I fired him. Finally, after we had set a price for the job and terms of the percentage to be paid after the first part of the work. He demanded payment after each day of labor. I paid him, he destroyed my very expensive tile and self leveling compound, and I want to see how good his guarantee is. I'm still paying for Robert's hack job. I want my money back!

Robert did a great job moving some cable wiring from one side of our living room to the other. It was a bit hard at first to coordinate a schedule with him but he made it out as soon as he was able (given some personal issues that he later informed us has arisen). While at our home he was friendly and worked his hardest to make sure there was minimal damage to the wall and floor space he had to drill in to.

I usually charge by the job. If a customer has several small jobs they need done I will bundle them if done on the same visit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
all of my Education and Training has been hands on in a shop or out in the field.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 1988 at the age of 14 my dad taught me how to use his radial arm saw, and I learned how to build my first display case. From there he taught me how to build cedar chests and other types of furniture. After that I work for several small companies learning other trades.
