Jim MacQueen at Castle Keep Solutions has worked a couple of projects for me and both were very successful. His work is top notch. He did a closet build out for me, including framing, trim, drywall and paint. If I didn't know that this was an add-on job I would swear that it was part of the original home build. He provided a free quote (which was very fair), was punctual, professional and communicated throughout the process. I really appreciate the work he did for me and will use him again in the future if another project need arises. I highly recommend Jim and Castle Keep Solutions.

I usually do a search, just to see what is out there. But I do not believe that I found Castle Keep Solutions. After our Refrigerator was delivered and found that it would not fit in the space of our old refrigerator. On a Saturday afternoon, my search got me to Thumbtack and Jim from Castle Keep Solution. Jim contacted me and asked for pictures, before giving me a quote. We emailed back and forth through the Thumbtack Site. We came up with a price and a time. My wife and I looked at his website and checked out his background. He showed up on time and completed the job. Jim was able to get our New Refrigerator to fit into the space, with no issues. Jim and Castle Keep Solutions, was one of the best finds that I have ever found on the internet. My wife and I would highly recommend Jim and Castle Keep Solutions and would use them in the future.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to provide a written proposal for any projects in excess of 2 hours of labor. I have a 2-hour minimum= $160.00 I offer 5% labor only discount for veterans and seniors over age 65.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began doing home projects at age 10 and have been actively working on homes now for over 50 years.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
For North Carolina there is no State requirement for licensing of a handyman as long as the work performed does not exceed $35K on any one project. Here I would be sure to ask for references that you can call and confirm integrity. In South Carolina Castle Keep Solutions (CKS) has a specialty license from the state for carpentry, sheetrock & painting. The most important requirement is to make sure whoever you hire has General Liability Insurance! CKS has $1,000,000 policy in place.
