FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with an in-person consult meeting where we take an hour or two to discuss the project - client's style and wishes, my off-the-cuff ideas, etc. I also take pictures so that I can easily remember the space as I research, plan, and out together my proposed ideas. Depending on what I am hired for (consult, design, actual work and staging, etc.) we continue working together on the project. I also love offering clients a copy of all the before and after photos I take on my professional, wide-angle lense camera!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My passion for design began with my obsession over HGTV. I would spend hours watching Fixer Upper, Flip or Flop, and House Hunters! When my husband and I purchased our first home it was a total fixer upper - top to bottom. We replaced flooring, lighting fixtures, window treatments, painted every surface (including the kitchen cabinets) re-modeled the bathroom, and purchased furniture and decor for the home. From that huge project I discovered my own talent for and passion of interior design and have helped many others make improvements, big and small, to their homes since.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently helped a customer who purchased a town home remodel her kitchen and dining room space. She was a little timid about some of my ideas at first but she is completely in love with the look of her new home now. It only took a few hours of consult and some time on my own to dream and put together a digital idea book for her, but the results were great. I love hearing from her often about how much she loves her home - she even sends me pictures of new things she has added or is considering doing. My favorite part about projects is seeing the final outcome and the joy on my client's face!
