I served a five year apprenticeship which inncluded 2,000 hours of on the job training as well as the classroom instruction. I like solving problems for my customers as well as explaining why the work needs to be done in a certain way.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Im a third generation electrician, grew up around electrical work and it was a great fit for me as I like working with my hands and my head.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently I did a service change consisting of replacing the service entrance cable on the outside of the house with rigid electrical conduit, relocating the electrical meter to the outside of the house and replacing the fuse panel will a circuit breaker panel. While I had underbid the job, it was a lot of fun working with the customer because he was such a nice guy. He talked to a friend of his at work who did the same work done at his house and the electrical inspector came back five times before the job passed. The same inspector inspected our job and found two easily corrected issues which I corrected at no cost to the customer. So even though the job was not a profitable one for me. because I stand by my bids, it was so much fun working with the customer that in the end I believe he was satisfied with the work that was done
