FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new client, I have them complete a brief client intake form so I will of know any health issues needing to be addressed. Some time will be spent discussing the form and any other health concerns. We will assess and discuss which type of massage would work best and proceed from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the healthcare field 27 years and was a nurse in the Army. I have been practicing and licensed through the state of Texas for 15 years and take 20-40 hours of continuing education courses throughout the year. I am certified to practice 17 modalities of massage and strive to learn as much as possible so I can effectively assess and treat clients.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been in the healthcare profession since the age of 15 and always knew I would be a healer but did not know in what aspect. My massage therapist's shoulder has been hurting her and I asked her one day if she would like for me to "rub on it." She said I could try but she didn't think it would help. I tried to remember what she did to alleviate my shoulder pain and applied the techniques I remembered. It worked and she asked why I was not a masseur. The next thing you know, I signed up for classes and 15 years later, I still love what I do.
