When my boyfriend and I mentioned to our friend group that we were looking for a realtor, we got a handful of referrals. It seems like everyone 'Knows a guy.' We scoured reviews of the names we were given and also the companies for which they worked. Shannon is down to earth and approachable. She was patient with the ignorance that we, as first time home buyers, brought to the table and explained everything we asked in as much detail as we required. She was never pushy. There were a few times that my boyfriend and I looked at houses that we thought were solid. Though Shannon made it clear this was our decision and she'd support us in whatever choice we made, she also pointed out in more than one instance that the houses we thought were good were over priced. While many Realtors would probably jump at the chance to get a good deal and move on with other clients, Shannon always did extensive comps and research and gave us an educated opinion. Because of her extensive knowledge and honesty, we completely trusted Shannon when we did find "The One" and she gave it the thumbs up. For my wife and I, picking Shannon to be our realtor was an easy choice. A few years back, we lived in the same neighborhood and thought so highly of Shannon and her husband Matt that we kept in touch when both of our families moved to different towns. We cheered Shannon on when she became a realtor and when we decided to move again, we called Shannon right away. We were not disappointed. Shannon walked us through the process of purchasing our home from a national builder. We learned quickly that dealing with a national builder was a different experience to the local builders we worked with in the past. Shannon was able to guide us through the contract process. Additionally, she continued to check on the progress of our home with the builder’s agent, providing us with updates, and asking the questions that we didn’t know to ask. As a military family, searching for the house we plan to call home when I retire was an extremely important life decision for us. I discusses selling our home with Shannon and we are in the process of getting it prepared for going on the market. I was impressed by her knowledge and preparedness. She came to my home and did a thorough evaluation and had several comps ready to show me and explain out potential sale price, costs, etc. What impressed me the most was the effort she used to prepare for our appointment. She had done so much research that she was able to answer every question I had. Without pressuring me. When out home is ready to sell, Shannon Currin will definitely be out realtor!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Many times homes buyers are unaware that their agent's commission comes from the seller. Therefore, enlisting the services of a buyer's agent does not cost you a thing. In fact, you can't afford not to! As far as listings go, I provide professional pictures and measuring. I offer staging tips when needed. This ensures that your house is seen in the best light possible. And of course, Marketing, marketing marketing. The more people that lay eyes on what you have to sell the better. Your home is special, so your agent should be too.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Psychology.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love real estate and I love working with people, plain and simple. I love to see the look on a client's face when they find "the one." The moment when you tell your seller an offer has come in. It's what I live for. Real estate is a unique opportunity to work with people during one of the most stressful times of their lives, but yet turn it into a positive experience.
