This husband wife team can be very polite and cordial. Trevor did beautiful craftsmanship on a small custom wood daybed frame that anyone would love. I would recommend this pro to build custom furniture, but, I would advise having it made 'unfinished' however. The craftsmanship was beautiful, but the finish left something to be desired. It was difficult communicating at times, since I do not use a cell phone to text, but use phone, email and online communications instead. Also, it was difficult communicating about the finish: 1. The written contract specified "staining and a clear coating finish," in the original receipt and cost which I paid. 2. This was not done properly, and I paid $120.00 cash + a $20.00 tip extra to have it finished again. 3. But they used Modge Podge to finish this wood frame, without consulting me first, after I had specified please use a "clear coat polyurethane semi gloss finish." After I wrote asking why? 4. I was left a rude message from them stating that " I was not quoted for finishing it" when 1. I have the written copy that states "staining and clear coating to finish." which is written on my receipt. and 2. She said that "she offered to redo with out charge, I paid them $120.00 + a $20.00 tip to get the item finished properly. Then Modge Podge was used in stead of clear polyurethane semi gloss which I had asked for, and even gave them the extra $20.00 to pay for it. NOTE: I feel that is mainly due to youth and inexperience, which I am sure will improve over time. This handsome piece of furniture that was hand crafted by Trevor just needed a good sanding, and a real wood clear coat finish to make it perfect. Modge Podge should not be used to finish furniture with out asking the customer first.... I was also rudely told that I would have to "find someone else to refinish it" after i paid extra cash + a tip. As it was, it was never properly sanded... while it looks very attractive, and functions well, it has a gritty, sandy, rough and not smooth finish. When they delivered it I loved the way it looked but after they left I felt it and it was so sandy and gritty, and I looked up "what is Modge Podge?" and wish that had not been used. The actual piece of furniture itself is beautifully crafted. It's just it needs a proper finish is all. I would recommend for any DIY hand crafted furniture projects, but I would get it 'unfinished' and finish it yourself or hire another pro to do it is all.
