FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First thing and most importantly I want to understand the clients needs and their vision. This includes budgets, deadlines and going over any concerns and special requests. I like to keep the line of communication open and this is crucial throughout the planning phases. Every job and task is different but I want to make sure that we are on the same page and you are being treated as I would want to be treated when dealing with a contractor. Sometimes circumstances arise that are out of our control, in my experience these unfortunate situations are always conquered easier when we have an honest relationship and a mutual goal. Your happiness and satisfaction are the most important thing and I will never abandon a job that does not meet that.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Currently a Foreman/Assistant Project Manager for a large NYC based carpentry company. I have over 10 years experience working in the high end residential construction industry. At any one time I am managing upwards of 60-100 men and have a Project Manager Certificate from The Mechanics Institute of NYC. Scheduling and sequencing are a specialty of mine. Starting from the bottom I have done almost every job possible in the construction world. With over four years experience of managing rental properties for other people, as well as being "the man of the house" at a very young age I am very adept at trouble shooting residential issues and coming up with solutions. My strong belief is that every day brings an opportunity to learn and grow as a person and professional. This mindset helps me not only continue to improve myself but also stay up to date with this ever evolving business.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a young man I began working in construction for the same reason most people do...I needed to survive. I fell in love with the business and quickly realized that like most things in life, you get out what you put in. I love managing different personalities, working with my brain as well as my hands and constantly tackling different activities.
