FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices for wardrobe consulting are $25 per hour and a commute charge applies to some places. For sewing lessons $21 per hour and a commute charge applies to some places. I charge a $3 flat rate for 10-20 miles and if below 10 miles it's free. If higher than 20 miles it's a $6 flat rate. Tailoring pricing is adjusted according to the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I request a brief bio explaining the activities outfits are required for, a rough budget, sizes, email me close up and full length photos, and photos of key pieces in their current wardrobe. Any inspiration photos they have compiled, Pinterest is a good way for me to get a better feeling of what they like. Three hour minimum is required to do a closet audit and shopping session. For shopping I offer choices, if clients want a faster shopping experience we can select a time to meet and I will have clothes picked for them. Or we can do the shopping together. For sewing lessons I recommend 2 hours per lesson are the best. It gives us time to finish projects properly. Most clients have been wanting to do once a week.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and got my degree in Fashion Design. And I've been running my own clothing business for 8 years.
