I hired 5-Star Janitorial service to clean the house I moved out of. Although they were not listed as carpet cleaners, I asked if they also cleaned carpets. The owner (Thomas) stated they did. They were to do a thorough cleaning including cleaning the refrigerator, oven and microwave. I informed them that I had dogs. Three people showed up promptly apparently ready to clean. I showed them around the house and I showed them what needed to be done. I had to be out of the house by the 31st of the month with everything cleaned. I left the house and when I returned, their car wasn’t there. Shortly afterwards, one of the cleaners (Martina) returned with a brand new broom. I thought that was odd. They went about cleaning and stated it would take about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I left and right before the 2 hours mark, I received a call that they were finished. I returned and did a cursory look around. I noticed that there was dog hair on the short wall next to the stairs but Thomas assured me he would clean this up. I paid them a total of $240. He took off $25 as I asked if he could give a discount since there was no furniture.
The rental company representative inspected the house the following day and her comment was, “The cleaners need to go back, they did not do a good job.” She sent me many pictures showing the areas needing attention.
1. The refrigerator was not clean.
2. The oven had not been touched.
3. The microwave still had dried food particles in it.
4. There was a spot on the carpet which apparently hadn’t been touched. (See photo with the towel showing red spots).
5. The shower door still had soap scum on it. Martina informed me that was from months of the shower door not being cleaned and she tried but couldn’t get it clean.
6. The bathtubs had Ajax powder residue all over them.
7. The master soaker tub was dirty.
8. None of the corners in the bathrooms had been cleaned.
9. The toilets were not clean at the bases.
I contacted Thomas and Martina. They were to return and do additional cleaning and gave many excuses. It’s been 4 days and no one has called back to let me know they were not returning. I however, knew immediately they would not return. They had been paid. I went to the house and cleaned for another 5 hours and did the job they were paid to do.
Do not hire this fly-by-night outfit that claims to be professional (NOT) cleaners (DEFINITELY NOT). It is a sham operation. Just see the pictures.
