After having my aggressive dog, Bella evaluated by nearly 6 different trainers (actually, the trainers were evaluated by ME) about 11 months later I found exactly what I was looking for in World Canine! Chris Murley is a compassionate and incredibly knowledgeable dog trainer. He not only guides us in learning a bit of dog psychology, but also how we affect our dog with our own actions, both positive and negative. I am excited to move forward and watch as Bella finally transforms into a part of the family under the hand of World Canine. I worked with Chris when he was just starting. I have a female Rottweiler mix who was very dog aggressive and I was trying to rescue another dog. I had my dog for 7 years before I was able to have her around another dog. I thought it was impossible. I was very nervous after breaking up multiple dog fights with her and getting bitten once. Chris gave me the tools to be in control of my dog. He made me confident and made it fun. Training with my dog was something I looked forward to and was proud of. I saw progress every week. We now have not only adopted another dog, we have adopted 3 more! My dog that I started with assists me in training the new guys. She is confident and content and has a completely new attitude. Chris completely changed how I interacted with my dog. Thank you so much!

Chris was such a pleasure to work with! I have a 2 yr old male GSD that was out of control- he was very aggressive with people and dogs alike. We searched and spoke with many "qualified" dog trainers to no avail. After speaking with Chris, my husband and I were confident that he could help us. And that he absolutely did! He explained to us that each dog is different so it may be one session, it may be 4, but, he will fix it. And he did! 2 sessions and we are now the proud owners of a well behaved, proper boy. Chris literally transformed my dog right in front of my eyes. Each session I applied what I learned and my dog is now a happy, stress free, well behaved dog. I can take my dog on walks and have my leash hang at length AND my dog at my side, not pulling to get at everything/everyone, like a lunatic. Thank you Chris- I will always highly recommend you!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always wanted to have a dog but, I had a really big problem. Previous to learning how to train dogs and work with them I was terrified of them. Small, big, high energy or low, it didn’t matter. I had no good reason for being so terrified. I knew my fear came from a misunderstanding and so, determined to get over my fear, I got a puppy and I went for training for my puppy. I got my education from a guy who at the time had been training dogs for 43 years. He was a retired military and police k9 trainer who had redeveloped his way of training. Although I was getting better with my fear of dogs while training, it was still very much there. When I would wait for my turn to train with my pup I got to watch dogs with real aggression issues come in. I was so envious watching him work with those dogs. I knew he had an understanding i didn’t have. I reached the point that I wanted to learn what he knew. So, I took classes and apprenticed with him for 2 years, and my fear became history. Knowledge truly is power.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We had a rescue 4 year old female Rottweiler mix come to us who had been aggressive to both people and other dogs. By the time the Rottweiler came to us, the aggression towards people had already been worked out by the owners. We came to find out that the owners had a bachelors degree in animal behavior. Having the chance to work with an animal behaviorist graduate and learn their approach while educating them at the same time was quite the experience. It was very interesting to learn how they went about changing the behavior towards people and it was understandable why they couldn’t correct the behavior towards other dogs. By 4 years of age their dog had a lot of time to develop her misbehavior. Breaking her out was quite the rewarding experience for all of us. Her owners had such a love for her and put a lot of work into her between classes. It took us 4 sessions to correct the behavior to the point that the couple was comfortable taking their dog around other dogs. After correcting their dogs behavior, they took everything that they knew and learned and went on to rescue more challenging dogs.
