- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The Matrix standard pricing system for architectural services and technical drafting is based on providing the existing conditions, demolition, and new construction documents for building construction permit issuance. We must include this information as listed per State and Federal regulation. This strategy also provides a reasonable standard for sub contractors to understand and complete the project. Matrix estimates $3000.00 per 24" x 36" construction document page. Although all projects may vary, Matrix estimates that under 5000 square feet and three vertical stories of new construction can be drafted on 10 pages: 1) Project Description / General Notes 2) Existing Site Plan 3) Existing Plans 4) Existing Elevations 5) Demolition Plans 6) Demolition Elevations 7) Demolition Sections and Details 8) New Construction Plans 9) New Construction Elevations 10) New Construction Sections and Details Design and drafting services generally require 6% to 10% of project total estimated construction costs. Additional costs may apply when conceptual renderings may be desired.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The Matrix Design Companies (Matrix) are committed to satisfying customer needs and focused on the success of the project, its deadlines, and its performance after contract end. In regard to proposals made through Thumbtack.com, a project that is posted and within Matrix capabilities and interests, is quoted with an introduction to the company and generalized reason and schedule for fees. When a common interest exists between project owner and Matrix a formal contract will be written based on several specific details: 1) Project Location. 2) Project Scale. 3) Project allowable timeline for completion. Once the project owner and Matrix agree on the above a formal contract is drafted and signed by all parties. Work begins after the initial fee agreements are paid.
