FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge 75.00 for an initial consult. Each design service is different depending on the customer needs. If a client wants design boards I charge 100.00 per board. If the client wants design advice and decisions through the process I usually charge a flat design fee to work directly with contractor and client. This way I can help find items and fixtures that are budget friendly without adding fees. I always talk up front about what your needs are and massage my design fees based on client needs that works for both of us.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I charge 75.00 for an initial consultation. I will come to your home, meet you with a smile and talk with you about your design needs. I will also ask you about your lifestyle to get a better understanding of your needs for function and design. We will go over the list of priorities and I will reiterate and give any feedback for things I see. We then will make a plan, completely customized to your unique design challenges and needs. Typically I will make three boards, and i charge 100.00/ per board, this gives you a narrower path to make decisions and keeps you vested in your design. I will hold your hand as much as you want through the process. I am not a know it all designer, I'm interested in what you want first and foremost. I want you to love the space we designed together. I am very mindful of budget and quality of materials. I believe in putting high quality materials in places and spaces that have the most impact. I am in this profession because It is my passion with a purpose. It is not work, it is play for me. Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my Design Studio. Namaste. Heidi
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
First of all I have more experience than anything. I was married to a plumber at one time and we renovated small and massive projects as well as building new construction. I understand remodeling from more of a Contractor/Design perspective. I also have a Fine Arts Background. BFA in B/W Photography, minor in printmaking and textile, MFA in Ecological Architecture. I have a deep understanding for space, function, art and design through experience and education. In my work, I always begin with a concept, this acts as a driver to make decisions. I will customize a unique concept for you each client.
