If anyone can help your child tell his or her own story, it is the College Buddha Marshall Corey! We worked with him throughout the college process for our daughter and could not have been happier! He took what could have been a very stressful time and made it smoother for all of us! Marshall worked with Deborah and then also with Jeff and me to select schools to consider and visit, worked through the application process and the many essays that had to be written and finally, he helped Deborah to choose which school she will attend. Marshall helped our son get into college. That is the bottom line. He helped organize all of the essays, look at all financial aid options, put together a list of schools - target, reach and safety - and he helped our son find the "right" school for him. He is starting his sophomore year and we couldn't be happier with his choice, which was first suggested to him by the College Buddha. Marshall also helped our son find an essay topic to write about. Marshall was a great help to our son throughout the college admissions process. His knowledge, research, and attention to detail helped our son get into several colleges, including his top few choices. He was always available for questions and guidance and what really helped us was his positive attitude, and "bedside manner" which helped reduce the stress for our son and me and my wife. We really could have used the help and guidance when our first son went through the process, but even having gone through it once, as our second son had different needs and goals and abilities it seemed like uncharted territory all over again. I am here to help. I will work with the student and family to come up with pricing that works within any budget.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most importantly, I get to know the student. What makes the student tick, what does the student like to do, what does the student want to do? Then as far as college selection, what is important to the student? Type of school, academic program, size of school, etc. I also want to know the family. What is important to the family in the college admissions process - affordability, location, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
University of California, San Diego - Certificate in College Admissions Counseling plus an MBA and an M.A. in Communications
