FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I use industry standard pricing. most items, in quantity, can be priced by the foot or square foot. there are other site conditions that alter these numbers by changing the difficulty of the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process, if it is a process, is to find something outside of the pending job where you have a connection. For me this is easy because I enjoy meeting new people. A few months back I was asked to repair a kitchen install completed by others. A communication error had me showing up later than anticipated and the client was upset. She noticed a decal on my trailer, Navy Seaweed and hold me her son was serving with the Navy. She was so proud of him and told me he was with Seal Team 7. Our relationship got better when I told her I spent my last 6 years with another Team.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In one form or another I have been involved with carpentry for forty years. I have trained and taught 100's of carpenters/cabinet installers. I spent almost 30 years in the Navy, active and reserve, as a combat engineer working to improve the living conditions of both Marines and Seabees. During that time one of my primary duties was to train new personnel. I was a history major in the University of Georgia system but never finished my last year. I have framed 100's of single family and mu.ti family homes, installed more kitchens than I can remember. I prefer to call myself a Woodwrights because of the connotations attached.
